The Race Around Rwanda (RaR) is an ultra-endurance, self-supported cycling event that takes participants on a challenging journey through the diverse landscapes of Rwanda, known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.” The race begins and ends in Kigali, the vibrant capital city, and covers a distance of 1,000 kilometers with an elevation gain of approximately 18,000 meters. The route comprises 45% off-road terrain, including gravel roads and smooth tarmac, offering a comprehensive experience of Rwanda’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
